1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Coach Theory, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the platform. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and your continued use of Coach Theory constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Personal Responsibility
Coaching provided through Coach Theory is not therapy, counseling, medical advice, legal advice, or any other licensed professional service. Coaches on our platform are trained coaching professionals, but their guidance does not replace the services of licensed therapists, doctors, or other specialists. You are solely responsible for your own decisions and actions, including any outcomes that result from coaching sessions.
3. Confidentiality & Recording
All coaching sessions conducted through Coach Theory are recorded. By using the platform, you consent to the recording of your sessions. Recordings are used for quality assurance, coach development, and safety purposes. Both you and your coach are expected to maintain the confidentiality of session content. Recordings are stored securely and access is strictly limited to authorized Coach Theory personnel.
4. Data Protection
Your use of Coach Theory is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the platform, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.
5. Waiver of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Coach Theory, its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the platform or any coaching services received through it. Coach Theory's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific session giving rise to the claim.
6. Payment Terms
Session pricing is set on a per-session basis and displayed before you confirm a booking. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By booking a session, you authorize Coach Theory to charge the payment method on file. Prices are subject to change, but any changes will not affect sessions already booked and paid for.
7. Cancellation Policy
You may cancel a scheduled session in accordance with our cancellation policy. Cancellations made with sufficient advance notice may be eligible for a full refund or credit. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in forfeiture of the session fee. Specific cancellation windows and refund details will be communicated at the time of booking.
8. Jurisdiction & Arbitration
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of Coach Theory that cannot be resolved informally shall be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in accordance with its rules. The arbitration shall take place in Oregon, and the arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate your use of Coach Theory at any time. Coach Theory reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in abusive or inappropriate behavior, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.
10. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time. When we make changes, we will notify you via email or through the platform and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Coach Theory after any changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
